Determination, Heart, Persistence, and Dedication are four of the many terms that can describe this young mogul. Through the highs and the lows of life, he has maintained his pursuit of business excellence.

The Beginning…
Born in Hartford Connecticut on July 3, 1980, Charles Major or C-Major as he is more commonly known grew up as the youngest of four children his mother was an interior decorator and a playwright; while his father was a truck driver and not necessarily a constant force in his life. Like many other African-American children growing up in the Cosby era, C-Major believed the way to make money as a young black male was to become a doctor or lawyer. On the other hand, he was exposed to “occupations” that would not be as highly revered as the previous two. Becoming a drug dealer seemed like an option, but being the silent observer that he was, C-Major saw that the people who were actually successful at this either ended up dead or in jail. He also came to the conclusion that he was not very passionate about becoming a doctor or lawyer. One day without notice, something very simple but significant would impact his life forever. One of his sisters, on her way to college made a proposition that she would pay him $20 to record music videos for her while away because she would not be able to watch them while at school. C-Major agreed, not knowing that the casual enjoyment he received from Hip-Hop would turn into a heartfelt passion. He soon began to memorize every song he heard while watching the videos. At this point C-Major was no longer someone who listened to Hip-Hop in passing, he was flat out enamored with the art form. “I don’t know what it was but I felt like I could relate to every song. I wanted to sound as intelligent as KRS-One, be as smooth as Big Daddy Kane, and have all the ladies like LL”. Hip-Hop for C-Major became a way of life, and in turn helped him deal with a lot of the things that were surrounding him. “I am not going to sit here and say I grew up in the hood, but I can say I had a lot of hood experiences. I’ve been in situations were I had to heat water on the stove so I could wash up, or open up the stove door to heat the house. I could list a hundred situations I have been in like that!” Growing up C-Major moved a total of 11 times in a 6 year span, however, Hip-Hop music helped him to stay sane during these trying times, but still he could not see a future in the abstract art form. So he did what any sensible kid would do, he chose the career path that he felt would make him the most money; computer science. “I was always good at using computers, but honestly I always knew computer science was not for me. I saw it as an opportunity to make money; this is when the internet was just starting to bubble.” To C-Major school became a boring and very mundane task. With all that was going on in his personal life, he would do just enough to get by, always seeing the same comment on his papers; “capable of much better work”. “I just went to school so I could play basketball, that was my outlet, when I was on the court all the outside problems did not exist” After doing just enough to graduate High School, he attended college and quickly realized that is just was not for him. Hip-Hop had not fallen far behind in his life. He began to notice that Hip-Hop was not just for rappers but for entrepreneurs, noting that the big money was made behind the scenes. “I saw that that you didn’t have to be a rapper to be successful in Hip-Hop you could be an entrepreneur. I saw that Puff, Jay, and Russell had clothing lines, record labels, restaurants, etc. I knew from that moment that my destiny was in entrepreneurship and nothing could stop me.

This mogul is currently the CEO of several business ventures and is not showing any signs of slowing down. “My goal at this point is to not only take my organizations to the next level, but to help others do the same. I have made so many mistakes but on the flip side, I have had many successes that I would like to share with the world. Anyone can become a CEO but it takes determination, heart, persistence, dedication to become a mogul.
